Dear Parents, Guardians and Carers,
We are closing in on the end of the 2021 school year. Over the past few weeks the students have been working really hard in class, as the teachers have been assessing and gathering work samples to support them in writing each student report. This semester, reports will be sent out via SIMON on Tuesday, 14th December and can be accessed by parents through their PAM account. Despite having an extended period of remote schooling again, the teachers have been pleased with the learning demonstrated by students.
This week we started our school swimming program. The weather has been very kind to us and the students have enjoyed taking part in these lessons. Swimming lessons will continue next Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. Learning to swim is a very important life skill and I encourage you all to ensure that your child swims each day. Just a reminder, that all students are required to wear a rash vest or t-shirt. The children are also required to bring along a long top and pants (pyjamas) on Wednesday, 8th December for the survival component of the swimming program.
GRADE 6 GRADUATION
The Grade 6 Graduation Mass and Ceremony will be held on Monday, 13th December. The Graduation Mass will begin at 5:30pm in the school grounds. Following Mass, the Grade 6 awards will be presented, leaving families will be recognised and the slideshow will be shown. At the conclusion of the official Graduation Ceremony, the Grade 6’s and their families will share a picnic dinner. Families are asked to bring along their own food, drinks (non-alcoholic, picnic blanket and chairs.
Our whole school orientation morning will occur on Tuesday, 14th December from 9am – 11am. On this morning, students will visit their classroom for 2022. Class lists and teachers are still being finalised, so teachers will be announced shortly with students finding out their class on the morning of orientation.
END OF YEAR MASS AND BBQ
On Tuesday, 14th December we will also be having a whole school end of year mass. We are hoping that this mass can be held outside so that parents and families can also attend. Following Mass, we will make a presentation to Fr Peter Bickley as this will be his final mass at St Patrick’s. Fr Peter has been associated with St Patrick’s for many years, however he is retiring. Fr Peter has been a wonderful Parish Priest and he will be sorely missed. On this day we will also have a BBQ lunch. All students will receive a sausage or two and a Zooper Dooper. More information will be provided in regards to this later next week.
I hope that you all have an enjoyable weekend.

Week 1: Monday 3 January – Friday 7 January
Week 2: Monday 10 January – Friday 14 January
Week 3: Monday 17 January – Friday 21 JanuaryThis program is an amazing opportunity for young kids to learn and swim, undergoing a water safety program held over the first three weeks of January 2022, with each week consisting of five consecutive 30-minute lessons, Monday-Friday.
VICSWIM is looking forward to getting everyone back in the water as we end what has been a horrid year and move into what is hopefully a much more eventful one as we launch the exciting Summer Kidz program in 2022!
The cost of the VICSWIM Summer Kidz program remains at $35 per week with an additional $5 booking fee to ensure the program complies with Covid-Safe requirements. The booking fee will apply when you make a transaction and is not per child, per week or per class.
As noted, planning for this awesome program is well and truly underway as we have secured a successful number of new and returning venues for our programs to run across both metro and regional areas of the state. This list is growing each and every day, and we are continuing to hire and secure teachers and staff that ensure that this program runs smoothly for our young participants!
We are also extremely pleased to announce that the date to secure your spot in next year’s Summer Kidz program has been locked in for 16 November 2021 at 10am. Head to https://booking.vicswim.
