Dear families,
This week we acknowledged two important events: Remembrance Day and NAIDOC Week. The theme for NAIDOC is Always Was, Always Will Be and acknowledges the presence of First Nations people on our continent for over 65,000 years. It reminds us that our history is a long and rich one, dating back well before European exploration and settlement.
Next year we will be moving to a new Learning Management System (SiMON) for a range of applications including attendance monitoring, reporting, first aid, offsite activity permissions and parent access. Our new website, hosted by Schoolzine, also brings with it a range of applications, including some of the above. Over the coming weeks and start of next year we will work through which applications we will use for each platform with the view to promoting streamlined and effective systems for communication and information management for the school community. St. Patrick's will continue to use ClassDojo however the introduction of these platforms will mean we will no longer need to use Caremonkey (now called Operoo).
In a couple of weeks we will welcome the 2021 Foundation students for transition visits in preparation for the start to school next year. The program has had to be adjusted in response to COVID protocols and the children will be attending in groups of ten or less. The dates and times for these sessions have been added to the school calendar and we look forward to welcoming the children and their families to St. Patrick's.
Have a great weekend.
Nick
